Dr. Tanvir is a distinguished civil engineer with a remarkable career spanning the Bangladesh Army, United Nations, and Australian government sectors. With extensive experience, he has demonstrated expertise in civil engineering construction and project management at national and international levels.
Commissioned into the Corps of Engineers of the Bangladesh Army in 1996, Dr. Tanvir dedicated over two decades to leading high-impact engineering and infrastructure projects. He played a key role in the Bangladesh Army’s engineering units and contributed to UN peacekeeping missions in Congo and South Sudan. Before voluntarily retiring in 2019 as Commanding Officer of the 19 Engineer Construction Battalion, he successfully led numerous large-scale national projects, overseeing both horizontal and vertical infrastructure as a Project Director.
After migrating to Australia, Dr. Tanvir took on senior roles in local, state, and federal Australian government agencies, managing complex civil engineering, research and infrastructure projects. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Integra Consultants, a growing civil engineering design company in Australia, and as Head of PMO at Austroads, a globally recognised Australian road research organisation steering transport research and policy for Australia and New Zealand government’s transport agencies. Holding a PhD from The University of Sydney, a Master’s from BUET, and a Bachelor’s from MIST, Dr. Tanvir has also lectured at both MIST and The University of Sydney, shaping the next generation of engineers. His expertise, leadership, and commitment to engineering excellence continue to drive innovation in the industry.
